Owner – Ulrike Simic
Ulrike is a German woman who lived in the United States for almost 20 years before moving to Peru in 1996. She opened Ulrike’s Cafe as a take-out business with just coffee and brownies. She added soups and sandwiches, gradually expanding with the help of many friends. Drawing on her German roots, Ulrike focused on her baked goods offerings, including items not typically available in Peru. For example, she learned to make home made cheese for cheesecakes and perfected her signature carrot cake using local ingredients. Ulrike’s goal is to create an environment where everyone feels at home.
